Amy Oberman- About my Classroom

This year I am placed at Reo elementary school in a second grade classroom. I have volunteered in this classroom during a variety of days and times so I have been able to see many subjects taught within the classroom. Although the students in this class are eager to learn the class is often out of control and the teacher has difficulty completing lessons in a timely matter. The majority of the students in the class are below the average reading level. Many students that I work with get nervous when it is their turn to read out loud in front of the class. The students often need help staying on task and need help completing most assignments. Recently I was able to work with students in the computer lab where they used IXL a program to help them practice math. Most students were able to complete the math but needed to be talked through the instructions.
